Extended evening service
During Ramadan, Rapid Rail typically extends train operating hours into the night so passengers can return home after Iftar. Specific timings are announced by Rapid KL on its website and the MyRapid Pulse app each year.
31 August and 16 September
For Hari Merdeka (Independence Day) and Hari Malaysia, Rapid Rail extends operating hours and runs at peak frequency on lines serving Dataran Merdeka, Bukit Bintang and KL Sentral. Watch for service alerts on the MyRapid Pulse app.
Extended weekend hours
During Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Aidiladha, Rapid Rail runs holiday timetables — usually a Sunday-style service across the 2-day public holiday block. Specific timings are announced on myrapid.com.my.
Summer maintenance
Occasional weekend single-track maintenance closures on selected sections (most often the LRT Ampang or KL Monorail) are announced by Rapid Rail in advance on its social channels. Bus bridging services are normally provided.

Practical tips
- Check the status before every trip: service can change without notice — open our home page (or save it to your favourites) to see the live metro status in one glance.
- Live arrivals: the Rapid KL app shows real-time train arrivals at every platform.
- Avoid peak times: KL Sentral, KLCC, Bukit Bintang and TRX get very crowded between 07:30–09:30 and 17:30–19:30 on weekdays.
- To KLIA: the airport is served by the ERL KLIA Ekspres/Transit (separate from Rapid KL). Transfer at KL Sentral or Bandar Tasik Selatan; the journey takes about 30–35 minutes.
- Tap in & tap out: fares on every line are distance-based — tap your Touch ‘n Go card or eWallet at both the entry and exit gate so you are charged correctly.
- Pink Coach: the first coach of every train is reserved for women only on the LRT Kelana Jaya, Ampang and Sri Petaling lines during peak hours. The remaining coaches are mixed.

No. The first trains run from about 06:00 and the last trains around 23:30 every day. For night travel, use Rapid KL night buses (Bas Hala Tuju Malam) or e-hailing services like Grab.
