Possible extended hours
In some years Rapid KL has extended rail hours during Ramadan. Any change is announced by Rapid KL on its official channels.
31 August and 16 September
Large events in the city centre can bring special arrangements or crowd control at stations. Check Rapid KL announcements before travelling.
Holiday timetables
On public holidays such as Hari Raya, Rapid KL may run a different timetable. Specific timings are announced on myrapid.com.my.
Closures announced in advance
Maintenance can close sections of a line; Rapid KL announces these on its official channels and usually provides replacement buses.

Practical tips
- Check before you travel: our home page shows whether each line is within its timetable service hours (calculated from the published timetable, not real-time). For disruptions, check Rapid KL’s official channels.
- Avoid peak times: KL Sentral, KLCC, Bukit Bintang and TRX get very crowded on weekday mornings and evenings.
- To KLIA: the airport is served by ERL KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit, which are not Rapid KL lines. Change at KL Sentral, or at Bandar Tasik Selatan or Putrajaya Sentral for KLIA Transit.
- Tap in & tap out: fares are distance-based — tap your Touch ‘n Go card (or insert your token) at both the entry and exit gate.
Frequently asked questions
No. First trains leave around 06:00 and the last departures are between about 22:55 and midnight depending on the line and the day (see the table above). At night, use e-hailing services or taxis.
In the timetable data, weekday peak frequencies apply roughly 06:00–09:00 and 17:00–19:00 on most lines (07:00–09:00 on the Kelana Jaya Line; 07:00–09:30 and 17:00–19:30 on the Putrajaya Line).
Rapid KL can adjust hours during Ramadan, on public holidays and for major events. Exact times are announced on myrapid.com.my and Rapid KL’s official channels.
