Touch ‘n Go & MyRapid card
The contactless card accepted at Rapid KL rail gates, single-journey tokens and the unlimited passes (My50, Rapid Kembara, Rapid Bulanan).
How does the card work?
Touch ‘n Go (TnG) is Malaysia’s contactless payment card and the card used at Rapid KL rail gates. You pay a single fare on the LRT, MRT, KL Monorail and BRT by tapping in at the entry gate and tapping out at the exit gate; the system calculates the distance and deducts the fare.
According to Prasarana (May 2026), the gates accept only Touch ‘n Go cards and single-journey tokens. Contactless bank cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and QR codes do not work at the gates; at stations they can be used only at ticket machines and counters, to buy tokens or top up a card. Open payment at the gates has been announced but was not yet available at that date.

Touch ‘n Go card
Physical card. Tap it at the entry and exit gates. Passes such as My50 and Rapid Kembara are loaded onto it.
Single-journey token
Bought at the station ticket machines or counter for one trip; you insert it at the exit gate.
My50
RM 50 for 30 days of unlimited Rapid KL rail and buses. Malaysians only (MyKad).
Rapid Kembara
For visitors: RM 25 for 1 day or RM 55 for 3 days of unlimited Rapid KL rail, BRT and buses.
Rapid Bulanan
RM 150 for 30 days of unlimited Rapid KL rail and buses, also open to non-Malaysians.
Bank cards & QR
Only at ticket machines and counters (to buy tokens or top up). Not accepted at the gates.
How to buy and reload
Get a card
- Touch ‘n Go cards are sold by Touch ‘n Go retailers and outlets; some Rapid KL station counters may also have them.
- Load enough value for your trips, or ask at the counter to load a pass such as Rapid Kembara or My50.
- Tap the card at the entry gate and again at the exit gate on every trip.
Reload your card
- Station ticket machines and customer service counters.
- Many convenience stores across the Klang Valley.
- The Touch ‘n Go eWallet app, using a phone with NFC to update the card balance.

Passes are loaded onto a Touch ‘n Go card. None of them covers KTM Komuter or the ERL airport trains. Prices from 1 January 2026; the old My100 pass is no longer sold.
Frequently asked questions
You need either a Touch ‘n Go card or a single-journey token: those are the only two things the gates accept. Bank cards, phone wallets and QR codes cannot be used at the gates.
Refunds of Touch ‘n Go cards are handled by Touch ‘n Go under its own policies, not by Rapid KL stations. Check the Touch ‘n Go website or customer service.
