Get off at KL Sentral station (Line KJ & Line MR). The RapidKL metro does not reach Batu Caves. Take the LRT Kelana Jaya Line or the KL Monorail to KL Sentral, then change to the KTM Komuter Batu Caves line — a direct train of about 30 minutes that terminates right at the foot of the temple steps.
The KTM Komuter Batu Caves line also passes Bank Negara and Putra; Batu Caves is the northern terminus, so you cannot miss the stop.

Batu Caves is one of the most photographed sights in Malaysia: a 42-metre golden statue of Lord Murugan guards a 272-step rainbow stairway that climbs to the vast limestone Temple Cave, a Hindu shrine set inside the mountain. It is the focus of the Thaipusam festival, which draws over a million pilgrims. Batu Caves lies about 13 km north of the city and is not on the LRT, MRT or Monorail — but the KTM Komuter train runs directly there from KL Sentral, so it is still an easy half-day trip using the rail network.
